One full day in Yakutsk, the world’s coldest city. Experience extremely cold weather, authentic culture, mammoth-aged animals, delicious national food, blue-eyed Yakutian sled dogs, snowmobile ride… Everything what Yakutsk is remarkable for.

Standard Itinerary (Work Day, on transport, w/ a guide)

09:45 — Picking up at hotel and transfer to downtown.
10:00 — 10:45 — Driving around the city. Stop by at the famous Yakutsk Outdoor Fish Market.
10:45 — 12:00 — Security check. Excursion to the Treasury of Yakutia showroom.
12:00 — 12:30 — Walking around the Old Town.
12:45 — 14:00 — Time for lunch at the “Makhtal” restaurant with national cuisine in the Old Town (not included).
14:00 — 14:30 — Transfer to the other place of visit.
14:30 — 15:45 — Visit to Mammoth Museum. Lecture by an active paleontologist, who embarks annual mammoth remains search expeditions and work on mammoth cloning together with colleagues and Korean partners. It’s the very museum, that discovered the bleeding mammoth in the North of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
16:00 — 17:00 — Visit to the Atlasovs’ Sakha ethnographic complex. With a traditional ceremony of purification and blessing. Excursion with a deep insight into the culture and traditions of the Sakha people.
17:30 — 18:30 — Visit to the “Kingdom of Permafrost” ice tunnel complex inside Chochur Muran hill. This is the place to observe the unique collection of ice sculptures and the remains of paleontology discoveries.
19:00 — 20:30 — Lunch at the restaurant of the “Chochur Muran” complex. With a chance to taste the cuisine of the North Siberian peoples including Indigirka (salad out of frozen salmon), Stroganina, etc (not included).
20:30 — Transfer back to hotel.

What warm clothes to wear?

– Thermo underwear (woolen, preferably);
– sweater (thick woolen)
– scarf (woolen)
– warm pants (for instance, texapore or thick jeanse);
– warm high boots (uggi/valenki/fur boots);
– dawn parka with hood;
– fur hats;
– gloves.

Do you provide warm clothes?

We can provide visitors with the package of warm clothings. Available for rental.

Is there any option for dog sledding

What month is it better to experience the extreme cold weather?

Actually from the early December till the end of February. According to our observation, it’s always the middle of December, the middle of January and the first two weeks of February with the lowest temps.
